Youth & Young Adults Pastor (part time-full time)

The person will be primarily responsible for the discipleship of the church’s youth and young adults in both congregations to encourage their faith journey and to grow them into leadership. The person will work collaboratively with the two current pastors in a co-leadership model to develop a vision for this work that is in alignment with the OTBC vision. We describe youth as between 13 to 18 years and young adults as between 18 and 25 years old.

The personal qualities that we are seeking in a person are:
A firm devotion to Jesus Christ and the advancement of His Kingdom
Strong servant leadership, adaptability and the ability to manage change
Theologically trained at a tertiary institution, or in training
Ability to work in inter-cultural environments
Knowledge of the Baptist ethos in a New Zealand setting
